Butterfly Pavilion offers immersive, inquiry-based programs for scouts that combine live animal encounters, exhibits, and hands-on activities. Our classes help scouts earn badges while learning about invertebrates, habitats, and conservation in engaging and interactive ways. Programs are available on-site at Butterfly Pavilion or at your troop’s location.

Badge Programs

Programs designed to meet badge and award requirements for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts at every level.

Scouts explore the world of invertebrates while completing their Brownie Bug Badge.

Activities:

  • Create a personalized field guide
  • Hands-on bug crafts and discoveries

Meets requirements: observe bugs, explore homes, take a field trip, craft, and make a poster

Programs help scouts earn the Eco Learners Badge through environmental stewardship and real-world conservation experiences.

Boy Scouts dive into insect classification, structure, and behavior with hands-on study.

  • Explore insect life cycles and roles in ecosystems
  • Complete badge requirements through inquiry-based activities

Scouts focus on ecology, pollination, and the role of bees in the environment.

Activities:

  • Learn about honey bees and their roles in ecosystems
  • Tour Butterfly Pavilion’s apiary
  • Explore conservation and environmental stewardship
  • Complete merit badge requirements through hands-on investigation

Pricing & Workshops

Pricing is $15 per scout and $10 for each adult or troop leader. We also offer on-site workshops at your location for an additional fee, plus mileage, making it easy to bring the experience directly to your group.
