Our curriculum-aligned content explores science and conservation topics through interactive activities and engaging lessons that enhance your students' experience at Butterfly Pavilion!
Grade Level: 2nd–5th Grade
In this engaging class, students will unveil the incredible world of invertebrate adaptations through observations of live animals, specimens, and models, uncovering how these features help animals survive and thrive in their unique habitats.
Grade Level: PreK–1st Grade
In this interactive class, students will learn about butterflies and their remarkable life cycles. Watch your students spread their wings and discover the wonders of metamorphosis!
Grade Level: PreK–2nd Grade
Follow the journey of Lacey Ladybug as she grows up and explores her garden throughout the seasons. As Lacey encounters various challenges and makes new friends along the way, she teaches young learners about the fascinating world of ladybugs, including their life cycle, habitat, and their vital role in nature. Students will choose their own adventure in this interactive story time!
Grade Level: K–3rd Grade
In this investigative class, student scientists are challenged to use their senses to observe and interact with three live animals to solve the mystery of their connection — metamorphosis!
Grade Level: 1st–5th Grade
This interactive class introduces learners to the wide variety of animals that pollinate our plants and keep our planet healthy. Students will learn what pollination is, why it's important, and how we can support our pollinator pals as they support us.
Grade Level: K–5th Grade
This engaging class introduces students to the fascinating world of spiders by exploring their features, eating habits, and senses. Students will play interactive games while discovering what makes these eight-legged friends so amazing.
Grade Level: 3rd–8th Grade version AND 9th–12th Grade version
This hands-on course ignites young scientists' curiosity as they sharpen their observational skills and harness valuable resources to identify invertebrates. Watch your students take on the role of bug detectives, unraveling the secrets of classification.

Extend your field trip learning with 15-minute virtual pre- and post-visit sessions led by a Butterfly Pavilion educator. These short programs help prepare students before their visit and reinforce key concepts afterward.

Bring your homeschool group to Butterfly Pavilion for a hands-on science experience exploring the incredible world of invertebrates.
Check our field trip calendar for availability and expected number of students for each day. The numbers listed do not include general admission guests. If you are booking for March-July, you should anticipate that other field trip groups will be present during your visit.
Butterfly Pavilion, with support from Xcel Energy, offers scholarships to schools or groups where 35% or more of students qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program, as funding allows:
When requesting a scholarship on your program form, we will verify eligibility using Title 1 lists. If needed, we may request additional documentation, such as a letter on your organization’s letterhead confirming your student population’s eligibility.
