Parking Info

In the event that our main lot is full, Butterfly Pavilion guests are also welcome to utilize free offsite parking at the Westin Westminster or the Armed Forces Tribute Garden.

Accessibility

Fully wheelchair accessible with elevators to all levels. Sensory bags, noise-reducing headphones, and quiet spaces available.

Getting Here

Butterfly Pavilion is open daily 9 a.m.–5 p.m., year-round, and is located about 15 minutes from downtown Denver off Highway 36 at 104th Ave and Westminster Blvd, with parking access from Westminster Blvd (note: due to construction, westbound traffic on 104th Ave cannot currently make a left turn into Butterfly Pavilion).

  • From the South — Take I-25 north → Hwy 36 west → 104th Ave north, then turn right on Westminster Blvd.
  • From the North — Take I-25 south → 104th Ave west, then turn left on Westminster Blvd.
  • From the West — Take Hwy 36 east → 104th Ave north (left), then turn right on Westminster Blvd.
  • From the East — Take 104th Ave west or Hwy 36 west to Westminster Blvd.

The health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals is our top priority. Please note the following guidelines:

  • If you are feeling unwell, we encourage you to reschedule your visit.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the facility.
  • Please do not touch the butterflies or other animals unless invited to do so by staff.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted in the exhibit areas. A cafe and outdoor seating are available.

Personal photography and video are welcome throughout Butterfly Pavilion for non-commercial use. Please note:

  • Flash photography is prohibited in all exhibit areas, as it can disturb the butterflies and other animals.
  • Tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not permitted inside the exhibits.
  • Commercial or professional photography requires advance approval. Please contact us for permit information.

Free parking is available in our main lot at 6252 W. 104th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80020. The parking lot is accessible from both 104th Avenue and the US-36 Bikeway.

Overflow parking is available during peak times. Accessible parking spaces are located near the main entrance. Bus and motorcoach parking is available for group visits -- please contact us in advance to reserve a space.

Butterfly Pavilion is accessible via RTD public transit. The nearest bus stop is served by Route 104, which connects to the Westminster Center Park-n-Ride and the Flatiron Flyer (FF1/FF2) for service from Denver and Boulder.

The US-36 Bikeway runs adjacent to our property, providing bicycle access from communities along the US-36 corridor. Bike racks are available near the main entrance.

School field trips typically visit between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., especially during spring and fall. We recommend visiting after 1:00 p.m. for a quieter experience. Check our Field Trip Capacity Calendar online for the latest info.

You can purchase tickets online before your arrival or at the front desk. To buy online, visit our website, select your preferred date and time, and complete your purchase.

Yes! SNAP, EBT, P-EBT, WIC, and out-of-state card holders receive $5 admission per adult and $5 for children (2–12) for up to 4 people, available both online and in person. Please bring your card and present it prior to entering.

Yes! Butterfly Pavilion is ADA-accessible and welcomes outside strollers and wheelchairs into the facility. All pathways are wide enough to accommodate mobility devices, and our elevator provides access to all levels.

Rosie and Goldie have transitioned away from public handling but remain on display for all visitors to enjoy. Our interpretive specialists are nearby to answer questions and share fun facts about these amazing creatures.

Free offsite parking is available at the Westin Hotel and the Armed Forces Tribute Garden. Both are a short walk from our main entrance.

Pets are not allowed inside the facility. Only service animals as defined by the ADA are permitted. Please leave your furry friends at home for the safety of our animals and guests.

Yes! The Colorado Backyard exhibit and play area are open and included with general admission. Please note the play area closes daily at 1:45 p.m. for 15 minutes for cleaning.
